Our client had just purchased a new home and wanted to build a hidden home theatre room in the garage area. We supported our client in the build with some ideas and then supplied the product for the finished room.

We went onsite when they purchased the home and did an initial consultation based on the room he wanted to build. Our team then provided a hardware spec and completed the pre-wire / speaker placement.

When the room was completed, we came onsite and did the installation, the calibration and installed a rack for the AV gear.

It all came together nicely based on the clients budget and requirements.

During a home renovation, our Auckland based client decided they wanted to add a simple home theatre space in an unused area, a Bar With A Theatre.

We came onsite to do a site measure and discuss options. Our team then spec’d the room and provided an itemised estimate based on the clients desired budget. Once approved, all the gear was ordered into the client installation bay at Rapallo and the pre-wire commenced.

Once the room was completed, we then cam onsite and did the final fit-off and setup. The projector and sound was calibrated and we then trained the client on operating the system. Finally a few weeks later, after some use, we went back and did a final full calibration.

Now in the completed space, the client had a fantastic area to watch movies, play games and watch sports. All aligned to the bar area to enable entertaining and entertainment. A fantastic outcome.

Project Setup – A Bar With a Theatre

After a large flood in their existing cinema room, our client contacted us for product and assistance in re-building the room and enhancing the platform.

Our team looked over the room and ran through the options, discussed brand and differing platforms with the client. In the end it was decided to use a Sony XW5000 projector, Anthem AV Receiver and Power Amplifier and a range of Paradigm speakers, four SVS subwoofers all matched to a Indigo fixed frame acoustic transparent screen for an incredible image. On top of this, they wanted a Karaoke system, so that was also included and installed behind the screen with a pair of microphones and PA speakers for some lung-thrilling singing.

We also worked with the client on the acoustics in the room, using a mixture of Primacoustic and Vicoustic panels and bass traps which are lit up with back-lighting.

The client is a developer, so the majority of the building & electrical work was carried out by them. Our team did the final fit-off and the last piece, the calibration will be done post 100hrs use to really make the room a total cinema experience.

Have to say, its looking like a great space to watch movies. The lighting is soft and easy and the seats just tick off the final element. Roll up movie night!

Rapallo were contacted by our client who had moved from Auckland to Cambridge. They had just purchased a new home that had a media room, but with no hardware to make it work. So we jumped to action.

We scheduled a day onsite to do the pre-wire work. Usually in an existing home this consists of lots of holes to get the speaker  / HDMI cables around the room. In this case we hit the jackpot and got all the cables run with only one hole required. At the same time the guys onsite installed the projector and set that up for the screen.

There was then a small delay in proceedings while we waited on the board for the cabinet. We constructed the AV cabinet to match the kitchen cabinets in a matt black with four doors and shelves. This was installed and then the Paradigm front array was installed above and on the wall. The acoustic weave 110″ screen was wall mounted and all the speakers installed in the pre-cut cavities. Lastly the amplifier was hooked up, installed in the cabinet with a new Blu-Ray player and the Apple TV. We setup the SVS PB1000Pro subwoofer and the IR senders.

All that was left to do then was to clean up, then setup the speakers and do a room calibration. We showed the client thru the system and explained how to use it. When we left they were happily watching Top Gun.

A great outcome and now a fantastic room for movies and sport.
