Many forms of media are Region Coded. This means there is a “lock” of sorts in the disc’s code that stops it from being played in regions outside of where it was sold.

For example, a Blu-Ray sold in Bangladesh would be Region C. So your player would have to match that disc’s region in order to play it. You would need a Region C player. North America is Region A, and most of Europe is Region B.

A Region Free player means that your player isn’t locked to just one of these regions. It can switch between them freely. So you can play discs from all over the world regardless of the disc’s region.
