FAQ’s
- What is the Naim NAP 350 and what does it do?
The Naim NAP 350 is a high-end monoblock power amplifier designed to take the preamplifier’s line-level audio signal and amplify it with high current and power to drive loudspeakers with authority and precision. It doesn’t process sources or control volume, its sole purpose is to deliver clean, robust power to your speakers for realistic sound reproduction. - How much power does the NAP 350 provide?
Each NAP 350 amplifier delivers approximately 175 watts into 8 ohms and 345 watts into 4 ohms. It can also provide very high peak power (up to ~1.7 kW) to handle challenging speaker impedance dips, ensuring stable performance even with demanding loudspeakers. - Why is it called a “monoblock” amplifier, and what does that mean?
“Monoblock” means each amplifier is dedicated to one channel (left or right). Using two mono amplifiers, one per speaker gives better channel separation, more focused power delivery, and often improved stereo imaging and dynamics compared with a single stereo amp. - What kind of amplification does it use?
The NAP 350 uses Class-AB linear amplification with a regulated discrete-regulator (DR) power supply and custom high-current output devices. This design emphasizes low noise, stable current delivery, and musical dynamics rather than just rated wattage. - What does a power amplifier like the NAP 350 not do?
A power amplifier doesn’t:- Select source inputs or control volume (that’s the preamplifier’s job).
- Decode digital formats or network streams.
- Add tone control, EQ, or effects.
It simply boosts the preamplifier’s signal to levels that can drive speakers accurately and with authority.
Features
A timeless design
The NAP 350 combines a sleek design and premium materials such as highly thermally conductive aluminum alloy heatsinks.
At Naim, they pride themselves in the clear-cut design of the products; they avoid any unnecessary embellishment that would detract from the performance and sound quality of our products.
Perfect integration
NAP 350 combines perfectly with the NSS 333 streamer and the NAC 332 preamplifier, creating a complete system.
The NAP 350 is a pure class-AB linear amplifier, running from fully regulated DR power supplies, producing 175W into 8 ohms and 345W into 4 ohms.
It can deliver a peak power of up to 1.7kW to drive impedance dips of complex speaker crossover networks. The input is via a balanced XLR socket, facilitating industry-wide compatibility.
Aluminum casing
Their founder, Julian Vereker, immediately understood the many benefits of aluminum for wrapping Naim electronic components. He knew that delicate audio components are very sensitive to the effects of magnetic fields, unstable temperatures, and unwanted vibrations.
