FAQ’s
- What type of cartridge is the AT-OC9XML?
The AT-OC9XML is a dual moving coil (MC) phono cartridge, which uses separate coils for each channel mounted on the stylus assembly, allowing for very low moving mass and high frequency response. - What stylus does this cartridge use?
It features a microlinear stylus, which has a very fine profile that tracks record grooves with high precision, improving detail, imaging, and overall sound quality compared with standard conical or elliptical styli. - What kind of sound character can I expect?
The AT-OC9XML is known for excellent clarity, wide dynamic range, and rich detail, helping to bring out subtle musical nuances and deliver a more engaging, lifelike listening experience across many genres of music. - What tracking force should I use with the AT-OC9XML?
The recommended tracking force for this cartridge is in the range of 8 to 2.3 grams, with a typical recommended setting around 2.0 grams for optimal performance and record safety. Always check your specific turntable manual and setup for best results. - Can I install the AT-OC9XML on any turntable?
It fits most tonearms with a standard 1/2 inch mount, but as a moving coil cartridge, it may need a phono stage with a suitable MC input or a step-up transformer, since MC cartridges produce lower output levels than moving magnet types.
Features
- Dual MC design with independent L/R coils for outstanding channel separation
- Aligned coils in a reverse V-shape which exerts less pressure on the stylus
- The cartridge body is pre-threaded for mounting on headshell or integral tonearm
- Nude Microlinear stylus on a boron cantilever that tracks the record groove with incredible accuracy, low distortion and high-transient response
- A neodymium magnet and permendur yoke provide dramatically increased magnetic energy
- Aluminum body lowers unwanted vibration for reduced resonance and better audio
- Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting process for coils achieve pure signal transfer
PERFORMANCE
To reinforce sound quality, the rigid aluminium enclosure reduces resonance while a neodymium magnet coupled with permedur yoke work together to dramatically enhance magnetic energy. The nude microlinear stylus traces the groove of your record accurately for the ultimate full-scale rich audio with high transient response. The pre-threaded cartridge body can be effortlessly mounted on a headshell or central tonearm using just two screws with no need for nuts.
PCOCC COIL
For flawless audio reproduction, AT-OC9XML uses pure copper coils attained via ohno continuous casting process. These are set in a reverse V-formation that affords lower extertion of pressure on the stylus to lower distortion
