Good bang for buck

Pretty happy with this player, into our Yamaha network amp. Sounds great, simple controls and has digital out if we choose to add a DAC later. Only criticism is that it’s quite slow to load discs but guessing that’s some sort of buffering thing.

I had read the Gutwire's write up on their ground cables and decided it would be good to try one. Lucky me they were available in NZ. The cable showed up and I found it worked well plugging the RCA end into a spare socket of my preamp, the 3 pin plug that comes with it went into a mains socket....

Just what the room needed

SVS SB-2000 Pro Subwoofer

I have been very impressed with this grunty and quick subwoofer. It not only looks great in piano black but fits perfectly in the room and compliments and rest of the system, for TV, 2.1 channel record listening, and surround sound sources. The addition of and facilities in the APP mean i can tweak on the fly as i am listening, brilliant. The wireless system works seamlessly and is so easy to set up. I am so impressed i decided to keep my old JMLab SW800 sub and buy another wireless kit for that (the wireless gives me the freedom to place a sub anywhere...such convenience without impacting sonics).

Now, I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made.The change was immediate and remarkable. The bass just got better. It gained a tunefulness and texture I hadn’t experienced before, with an extra weight that felt perfectly balanced. It wasn’t overwhelming; it was just right. The instruments and vocals took on a vividness and naturalness. Suddenly, it wasn’t like I was hearing a digital reproduction—I was hearing the something natural.

Amazing Piece of Equipment

Chord Electronics Hugo TT 2 DAC, Preamplifier & Headphone Amplifier

I bought the Hugo TT2 based heavily on a review from ConvinceMeAudio on youtube, he highly recommended the ZMF Pendant(which is too hard to get my hands on over here) and the Hugo TT2 with the ZMF Verite Closed that I already owned and he was not wrong, my Verites sound amazing on the Hugo, the tonality is just incredible as is the Imaging, Image Separation and Soundstage, the level of detail is beyond what I thought these cans were capable of, it evens brings out an 'almost' Focal thump/slam quality to the Verites on some songs, I think I can finally stop buying more gear as this will be very hard for me to beat. I'm someone who struggles with gear that's too treble focused, I could easily see the TT2's tuning being way too much for people in a similar situation, I find the VCs are a bit too warm/dark on most gear so I needed something quite detailed to balance them just right which the TT2 did.... but most gear I ran in the past I found I had to use tubes to mellow out the treble to my taste.
