I love this amplifier! It is light years from my last, my speaker have never sounded so good.

It’s hard to describe but clarity on the top end and bass is perhaps 15% better overall, but the real difference is in the musicality.
everything is so much more alive, you can get into the music much more.

I came in to grab the Techlink HDMI cable on Saturday
I thought I would let you know it works perfectly!
I can set my TV and PS4 to Full 60HZ 4:2:0 3840×2160 Full RGB with no issues.FYI: This was the 6th brand of cable I tried over the past week so I was a little worried It wouldn’t work, but I am super happy the issue is now resolved.I will be letting everyone know where they should get their cables from :)Thanks again for all your help.

I came in a few weeks ago and purchased an hdmi converter, speaker selector and the below Definitive Technology ceiling speakers. Our renovations are nearly completed and I installed these speakers last night.

Wow, these speakers are something else. I have one in the kitchen and one in the living room (I also have Klipsch in-wall in the lounge). The sound they produce is excellent!

I’ll be hoping to pop in this Saturday as I need to look at sub options.

Our AVR amp stopped outputting sound. Once contacted Deano acted quickly to organise the repair.

Once the unit was inspected the repairer informed us that a replacement part had to be imported from Japan and the expected repair job 2 – 3 weeks.

The repair company offered a replacement amp for the duration which my family and I appreciate very much indeed. That’s going above and beyond I reckon.

Thank you Deano for all your after sales support, the AVR amp is back where it belongs and performing beautifully.

Purchased a Perreaux VP3 Phono Pre from Rapallo. Got expert advice from Deano, a VP3 owner himself. The whole experience was perfect and Deanos knowledge of Vinyl is without peer. Hi Bart, just wanted to say a big thank you for selling me the screen and for your service with delivery / manual etc!

I set it up over the weekend – probably needed a bit more room to do that, than in my small lounge and the colours are great, the blacks are black and having the extra 200mm in height and 500mm in width when watching widescreen movies makes a HUGE difference in presence and engagement with the movie by filling a lot of my peripheral vision…. I may never leave the room again! (Except to write the occasional email of course).

I took the leap of faith as you know. And the results, once I figured out how to sort all my cabling and settings, are truly wonderful. I’m running the Darbee Hi-Res at 70% and the images are beautifully clear. The sound is noticeably clearer… I have it running straight through my Yamaha receiver, letting the Oppo do all the work. Well, finally reorganised my sound system – waiting on furniture modifications. Sub-woofer turned out to be the hardest part to calibrate – documentation suggested turning volume to between 10 – 2 o’clock, so set it to 10. Onkyo calibration system couldn’t find it. Wound it around to 2 and finally the Onkyo AVR detected it. Will try using the DVE calibration system as well, as I’m not convinced its in the right place.
Banana plugs not needed – turns out there is a disconnect between Onkyo production unit and their marketing unit. Original documentation I read indicated that the speaker input catered for banana plugs (hole in screw head) and bare wire. Considered banana plugs to be the better choice, but forced to use bare wire as that is all the Onkyo could handle.
Optical cable working as expected and TV bracket well-made.
Considered the repackaging of the small items into the TV bracket packet to be smart.

We have had problems with our HDMI signal from our receiver to TV over a 15m length. This included drop outs, flickering etc, even with a booster on the line and reducing the signal quality. I read an online article with a similar problem and decided to try one of Rapallo’s HDMI 24AWG cables. This not only stopped the flickering and drop outs, but I don’t need the booster and have everything set to the highest quality. One very happy customer thankyou. Now I just have to figure out how to get the cable through the walls!

Ordering off your website was an absolute breeze. The prompts your system provided me with regarding the confirmation of order and where to go to pay for the product, down to the tracking service with the courier was very fast and efficient.
The Product:
The cables look fast just standing still! Great presentation boxed up, they drew envy from my work colleagues. I am not an expert on home theatre so I am not qualified to give an objective opinion on their performance, subjectively however, I have to say that the sound reproduction of the entire home theatre system is staggering. Very tight and chrystal clear vocals with massively rich base. An absolute listening pleasure.

The product
– Unpacking the Oppo BDP-93 reminded me of Christmas: from the unexpected thoughtfullness of the packaging to the beautifully made machine that feels solid, and has that classy high-end look about it!
– the performance of the Oppo BDP-93 has exceeded all my expectations: as an upscaler, it has injected new life into old dvds that I thought I would never watch again, the new level of detail and quality of the upscaled image is a sight to behold! I am glad I did not give away my old dvds (a not inconsiderable dvd collection built over 10 years at least)! As a blu-ray player, the Oppo BDP-93 comes fully laden with features and adjustment settings that will allow the fussiest of users to extract the best performance from the machine; out of the box, it has already proven superior to my existing machine: super quick load time, flawless play and so easy to set-up (the quality manual has extensive explanations on various options for setting-up the BDP-93, along with very easy to understand definitions of the home-theater technical jargon). The remote is to die for: a beautifully crafted piece of equipment with a clear lay-out with buttons that “click” with a positive feel and back-lit for legibility in the dark.

I received my Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player today after a very prompt 2 day delivery. I really appreciated the technical advice I received prior to the sale and then the actual transaction was smooth, confirmed and shipped the same day. This was my first purchase from Rapallo and it certainly will not be the last. There are many people living here in Christchurch that, like me, had their AV equipment destroyed in the earthquake. I just happened to see them while searching on the web ( I couldn’t get one from the Camera Shop) From what I’ve seen of HDMI cable and how retailers put big mark ups on these products I was expecting it to be at least $50. I just want to say how stoked I am with my purchase of the Oppo BDP-80 Blu Ray player. It does everything I ever hoped it would and more!
The level of service I received from Murray has been brilliant! He answered all my questions when we spoke over the phone which showed he really knows his stuff. Murray,this player is an Audiophile bargain it really is a one box solution for the bewildering array of formats being marketed these days. It plays virtually all formats and everything with very high quality results. Blu ray performance is superb as is DVD , both audio and video. SACD’s and DVD audio both sound remarkable and also CD’s depending on their quality. The ease with which the OPPO plays everything is also extraordinary . Loading and startup times are excellent and the player runs cool and silently . I can see now why these machines get rave reviews .I was going to purchase an Audiophile brand machine which was priced at thousands more than the OPPO , I’m glad I did’nt now as this player is so good I would have been wasting my money. I purchased an Oppo BDP-83 from Murray and placed the order after 8pm on a Wednesday night. Murray was available via e-mail to advise me on the payment process and I paid via internet banking that night. The Oppo was shipped the next day and arrived at my work in Wellington on the Friday. The service was great so certainly no reservations in using Rapallo AV again in the future.

The Oppo itself is a little beauty! The set-up was very quick and easy to run though. I connected it to my Yamaha Z9 via the 7.1 analogue output and popped in Quantum of Solace and watched the opening scene. The DTS-MA soundtrack was simply amazing, so much so that I had to turn it down from my normal volume level. Once configured with the supplied Spears & Munsil Blu-ray calibration disc, the picture on my HD 46” Samsung was outstanding and a noticeable improvement on my previous Blu-Ray source (Playstation 3).

This is a great player and well deserving of the very positive reviews provided all over the internet. The SACD performance is very nice but possibly not quite as warm and inviting as my old Marantz DV8300 but for the price it is extremely good.

All in all, this has been a very positive experience and as said, I would definitely recommend Murray for future purchases. If you are looking for an extremely good Blu-Ray player that can play all your discs and output the HD surround sound formats to a non-HDMI receiver, then the Oppo BDP-83 is a great option!

As the tape on the Oppo carton was unbroken, I thought that you may have forgotten the 3m HDMI cable and region free mod, but after getting it home and unpacking, its all there! Very nice looking player, nicely presented and the Pro Gold HDMI cable is a work of art! Looks like a very well constructed cable at a great price!

I am trying to sell my old reciever before setting up the new Kit, so it may be a week or so before I get to play, I can’t wait to try it out!

I received the Mitsubishi hc 3800 yesterday. Wow. It throws a fantastic picture. After a lot of thought about what to buy i am really happy with it. Thanks for the Audio Calibration Disc that arrived today out of the blue (much appreciated) and to let you know we’re really pleased with our Oppo BDP-83. Regarding Divx movies you can pass on that it not only plays them well but also plays them from a memory stick via the front USB port (handy that). Another great feature that we appreciate is when playing a DVD movie one can skip all the preliminary bullsh*t at the beginning and go straight to the actual movie (be nice if it could do that for Blu-ray as well).

I had read that most HDMI cables at stores are vastly over priced so I decided to search for some decently priced cables with google. I tracked down RapalloAV website and the prices were great. So I grabbed a HDMI cable to connect my PS3 to my LCD monitor. Thanks for the fast delivery of the DV-981HD up-converting DVD player. We have a large collection of standard DVDs from many regions so this player was ideal as the region free instructions provided took about 10 seconds to apply. From taking the player out of the box its easy to see this is a quality product. But the delight is in the picture and sound. We use a CRT TV and a 5.1 amp so we aren’t using the full capabilities of the 981HD yet but even so we enjoyed a clarity and detail of images (eg. ‘The Right Stuff’ movie was beautifully presented) with excellent sound. Can’t wait for the day when we can hook up this DVD player’s HDMI capabilities!

Very pleased with the product and service.
The HDMI splitter arrived the following day and works perfectly with my set up with no problems or loss of HD quality.
I’m actually using it to provided a direct connection to my HDTV with the other connection going into my AV receiver for TrueHD & HD DTS decoding as I was experiencing dropped frames when just playing through the receiver, apparently due to some kind of incompatibilty between the HDTV and reciever when playing at 1080p/24p.
Great to have this problem resolved at last even if it is a little unconventional.

I am having a little trouble with this unit. I use a single input which is HDMI input 2, and it works without any problems. However, I switched the cabling over to HDMI Input 1 and there was no video or audio signal. After changing back to HDMI Input 2 both signals were restored. As I have mentioned I am only using one input but at the price I paid I would like the future capability of using 2 inputs if I so desired.
I have purchased from you twice previously and have been very happy with the service and the products. This is the reason why I support your company.
What do you suggest?

I’ve had the Yamaha USB speakers for about a week now, I thought you might be interested in my opinions. I’m very pleased with them, they live up to my expectations, being a huge improvement on my Macbook and iMac speakers, and the volume is most impressive. For the size they are great.
Back a few weeks ago when I was doing some Internet research on USB speakers, I settled on the Yamaha as being the ones I wanted. So far as I could find out, from a Google search, RapalloAV seems to be the only retailer in NZ offering them. I’m not sure how many of these units you move, but I’d say there would (or should) be a niche market for them, especially with students (every second Otago scarfie has a laptop).
Anyway, nice to do business with you.

“The Oppo BDP-83 is a superb product and exceptionally good value. The player has coped admirably with every sort of media I have tried out – Blu-ray, SD DVD, CD, SACD, DVD-Audio and photo files via USB. Video performance for both Blu-ray and SD DVD is excellent and in some ways better than more costly ‘big name’ equipment that I have. Audio performance is also very good particularly from quality Blu-ray and DVD soundtracks and SACDs. The region mod works well for both Blu-ray and SD DVD so I now have a true multi region universal player at a very reasonable price given the quality of the player’s construction and performance. Set up is a breeze and the manual is well written and comprehensive. I have received excellent, prompt service from Murray at Rapallo and he was very obliging with a special request I had. I thoroughly recommend both the BDP-83 and Rapallo.’

While browsing the AudioEnz forums recently for opinions on blu-ray players, I learned that Oppo were about to release a blu-ray player and that this would be available from a company I had never heard of called RapalloAV. I emailed RapalloAV and from that first contact Murray has been quick to respond to any questions, and has kept me regularly updated on progress when I pre-ordered the Oppo BDP-83. The player has now arrived and I am thrilled with it. I had some idea of what to expect in terms of picture quality with blu-ray, but watching Vertical Limit last night, I was blown away by the improvement in audio quality. DVDs with a DTS soundtrack have always sounded pretty good – nothing like top of the range equipment, but still good quality. I now realise the audio components had never even got out of the starting blocks before!
I haven’t tried a DVD in the Oppo yet, but the incredible detail in both picture and audio from blu-ray has immediately convinced me that it has been money very well spent, and my wife agrees with me 100%. I get the impression that not all blu-ray discs are created equal and some will be more impressive than others, but I look forward to many enjoyable hours exploring them.

Just wanted to say thanks for the quick delivery of the cable and switcher. They arrived the day after payment was made. This is the second time I have used RapalloAV and it certainly won’t be the last. The products have arrived quickly, well packed and as advertised and the low price is always a bonus. I Called the first time I ordered from you and you gave me some advice on what I needed and what would and wouldn’t work. This was much appreciated and saved me a lot of hassle and money.
The pigtail is great, I was in two minds over getting it but I am so glad I did, talk about make life easier. The size of it and the fact that it is “powerless” are huge things for me as I wanted to have it behind a TV that is wall mounted. I have attached a picture so you can see how I have it (the 2nd cable I ordered from you will use the 3rd port), It would have been a real pain having to use one a; without a built in pigtail and b; one I had to plug into the wall.

Hi Murray, received the projector last Thursday.
Looks like all the reviews were right! I was a bit sceptical of the reviews as I was thinking what would first time projector owners know and would they be that critical?
However I am really pleased with the image and brightness (I prefer the low light mode) of the DV10. Obviously not as good as my infocus on the ceiling (IN76) but more than acceptable for the average viewer. Good blacks and good skin tones. The ergonomics are good as well except for the Brite mode being the default mode.
The speaker for there size are very good and far superior to amplified MP3 (I hate mp3!). Infact I can enjoy a movie in the bedroom and the sound melts away and I can be involved in the movie. Obviously a real grunty home theatre sound system is far superior but the sound is not offensive to be distracting.
Its a pity it is not promoted more as I think it is great value.
I’m interested to see how the Epson combination goes in comparison ($800 Dick smith)

Hey im Sean Arnold, I recently purchased a HDMI cable off you (Black Diamond).
I’d just like to say thanks. I was kind of half expecting the product and your business to be a rip-off job but it really isn’t.
The HDMI cable fixed my EMI (electro magnetic interference) problems with my monitor that I had by using a VGA cable.
Obviously this was because of the good insulation the BD cables have.
Its great to see a NZ company making quality AV equipment. I’ll keep you in mind for future purchases.
In saying this I dont have specalised equipment to test your cables (as well as most people — lucky Monster eh?) but it seems alright.

No problem with the return & refund of that ridiculously over-priced Monster cable. It was returned to the Norman Ross store in Lower Hutt (owned by the same people that run Harvey Norman).
Of course I was offered alternative cables but of course I will instead buy them from yourself (your quick response and help won the day!). I’ve been on your web site already and ordered two of the Silver copper coated cables you mentioned below. I’ve decided to order 2 more cables later together with the switch box as a ‘phase 2’ order once the Telstra box arrives on the scene early next year.
I’m hoping you will be able to deliver the cables during next week to ensure a pre Xmas arrival. If you cannot do this please let me know.

The high end audiophile speaker cables are fantastic. Even at this early stage with only a few hours of conditioning the difference between our old monster speaker cable is easily noticeable, particularly the mid-range with speech coming to the front of the sound stage. For us, even with a high-end receiver, the ability to change the cable to banana plugs at the receiver end has eliminated the clutter around the speaker binding posts. We’ve left the spades on the other ends of the cables. My wife and friends have been amazed at the weight and quality of construction of these cables. All we can say is that they are a bargain and really should sell for more!
Honestly, I asked others how much they thought the cables cost me (after explaining the specifications to them) and the average price they quoted me for a cable was more than the total cost for all three! This is my first time to try proper speaker cables and the lift in clarity of the sound was so noticeable – the soundstage sounded so much “cleaner”. I now really understand what the audio reviewers in magazines such as Tone mean about improving your set-up by making such a small investment in decent cabling.

The Oppo DVD player arrived on Wednesday and I have had a good play with it. Does a great job on up-scaling most DVD’s with the exception of Andre Rieu DVD “Live in Maastrich”. While I enjoy Andre Rieu and have many of his DVD’s I do not consider them to be of the best quality both in Video and Sound. Anyhow the poor up-scaled image is not the fault of the Oppo player but the source material.

Just received player today and immediately connected. Presentation of the box very impressive. Am pleased to report that the player stood up to first impressions. Have been listening to various disc types of CDs – Wow Realy great sound.
My Arcam CD player cost a lot more and only plays normal CDs. I am very happy and thank you for your quick response to my order. The real crunch comes next month when I am the host of our audio club’s monthly meeting. Must rush to do some more listening and read the user friendly manual.

Item received today thankyou. Quick hook up and quick look at lunch time and all looks very good.
I have a Logitech Harmony 1000i Universal remote and the Oppo HM-31 is in their data base. This means when I change from My Sky HDi box to Freeview HD box to Panasonic DVD Recorder (all using HDMI), I can incorporate the switching of the HDMI input into each activity on my Logitech remote. While I switch off the DVD Recorder when it is not being the source, I choose to leave the other two boxes on all the time.
I previously tried a Dick Smith HDMI switch and had to take it back because the Logitech Remote data base had nothing on it and the learn function would not work – basically it was crap.

Its true ! The Oppo DV980-H is as good as the reviews say it is – I spent a lot of the weekend setting up the DVD player into a 42” Full HD TV and 5.1 through my B&W speaker. Sound is fantastic from CD and vision is incredible. I played one of my DVDs – Earthflight – Space Shuttle views of the earth – and couldn’t believe the resolution !

Yet again another fantastic product from Rapallo AV. Sorry for the late feedback on the Oppo Dv-980H that we purchased – we can’t get over the improvement to our standard DVDs played through this player, whether on our LCD TV or through the projector, so we’ve been revisiting DVDs from the past just to watch them with the new level of detail. Best of all, the Oppo outputs native 480i resolution and we can let the receiver handle the upscaling – fantastic! (not that we could fault the Oppo’s upscaling in any way either). My partner and I had to double check that we were using a DVD player when playing CDs – the detail in the audio is superb and we love the ability to turn off the video circuitry so that the audio signal is as pure as it can be. Also, problematic zone 1 DVD disks that we had play faultlessly through the Oppo and I really appreciate the ability to update the firmware. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a great DVD player/CD player to compliment their home theatre setup.

Yesterday I finally got to break your cables out of their packets and run them as well. I was a little worried that one the 15m cables would not reach the family area from my media area, and so I was very relieved when I ran it and ended up with about 60cm to spare.
Having seen and installed the cables I am really wrapped with them. They even feel like they have real substance, and quality. I have no doubt that they will perform as well as they look, when I finally get the opportunity to plug them in.

I took the conservative approach of ordering one HDMI cable to see what the service was like and most importantly (what it all boils down too) the quality of the cable. I was actually amazed at the service and honest advice Murray gave me thru the entire order – and the cable was simply the best I’ve ever used.

I have subsequently made a number of further purchases and spent a lot of time on the phone talking directly with Murray about various options on both cables and hardware. I trust Murray’s advice and he hasn’t disappointed at any stage. Orders are processed and distributed within 24 hours of him receiving them and the postage and packaging is first rate.

One further thing I’d like to add. I simply can’t fault Murray’s accuracy of the descriptions on his website. I recently bought some cables, wall plates and other items through Rapalloav as part of my home theatre build.
I had never bought anything from this company before. Their HDMI cable prices looked good, so I gave them a try.
Striking some problems early on, I just accepted that these things happen, and I would have to live with it.

After mentioning my issues in a return email, imagine my surprise when the owner calls me directly only a couple of hours later, and goes out of his way to resolve the problem. And it wasn’t just one call. Over the next few days the owner offered various solutions to the problems I encountered, and with good communication, in the end we found the answers.
My system is up and running brilliantly, and the job is done correctly.

I read the testimonials on your website but thought you had to be a customer to get that kind of superb service. And here you are now responding to my feeble enquiry within 12 hours !! How fantastic are you??
You may have saved me some money in the short term BUT you have gained my respect for being upfront AND have gained a customer for the future.
I am one of the many consumers who were misled into buying what we thought was a future-proofed (to a certain extent) TV .as it turned out it is not. The TV is about 2 years old and I guess short of a financial windfall, I will have to stick with what I have got. I don’t think the Vendor will be interested in my complaints at this time or at any other time.
The reviewer on my TV from TONE magazine (in 2006) said:
“None of the Grand Wega TVs has digital (HDMI/DVI) input and this neatly sidesteps the issue of connectivity compatibility. Instead, Sony relies on the WEGA engine,which sense the type of input signal and minimises the analogue-to-digital conversions accordingly.” I did not know what hdmi was in those days and i guess neither did the vendor- a major company!
One of the reviewers in FFWD mag was supplied with “an HD signal generator and a sample disc to test the high-definition component of the Grand Wega.” Is that generator freely available and if so, would it cost as much as a TV? Seems like in the short term, that may be an alternative?? Or maybe I better be happy with what I have and stop pondering the what-ifs…and start saving (again!) for a new TV…here comes another domestic in the making

Thanks for the second optical cable you sent. I now have both my DVD player and DVD recorder connected to my receiver in this way. The annoying hum I often heard from the subwoofer and other speakers has not been present since I switched from coax to optical (if this has permanently fixed the problem it is a very inexpensive solution…fingers crossed). I was also impressed by the quality of the Accell subwoofer cable and component video cable I purchased from you a month or so ago. I’m considering upgrading the other component video cable in my system to one like this or going all out and upgrading the DVD player to the new Oppo 983 with an HDMI connection to my new plasma TV.

We can now effortlessly watch all our HDMI connected devices through the television or the projector (using our receiver), and best of all, the mini HDMI splitter doesn’t require any input from us – it just does it’s job and you wouldn’t know it was there. As you pointed out, a powered splitter such as this was definitely the way to go with the projector connected by a 15m Platinum HiPQ cable – absolutely faultless. Hi Murray, I’ve been using the HDMI cable for a couple of hours now and thought I would send you something for your site feedback area. The cable resolved a longstanding annoyance I have been experiencing with an HDMI switch, and I am more than pleased!
I have several HDMI sources (HD DVD, DVD and Blu-ray) but sadly only one HDMI input on my projector, so several months ago I purchased an HDMI switch to make changing devices a little easier. In the months following that purchase I had an ongoing string of problems ranging from video dropouts and connection failures to movies stopping dead in their tracks mid-sentence. I swapped cables for another well-known brand trying to resolve the problem. I didn’t get any dropouts with this new cable. In fact, I didn’t get anything at all except a blank screen and an error message. I was considering importing a premium cable from the US, but a friend suggested that I give RapalloAV a try first. The price of their cables was very reasonable, so I wasn’t expecting much. But when the cable arrived I was pleasantly surprised at how well built it was, with a solid metal connector and some very slick shielding. It certainly looked and felt as nice as any of the premium European brands, minus the price tag. When I tentatively plugged the HDMI cable into my switch, all of the problems I experienced in the past completely disappeared. Not a pixel dropped, not any issues of any kind just glorious, crisp High Definition video from every source. Thank you RapalloAV. I can wholeheartedly recommend your products to anyone looking for an excellent HDMI cable at an amazing price.

I must say Im very impressed with the Oppo 980H. The upscaling capabilities will keep me from buying into HD for some time as I can now watch my prized collection of DVDs at 1080i on my HD CRT TV. A stunning clear picture, compared with the Sony QS SACD DVD player I was using. What is most pleasing though is the audio! The new depth and clarity of CDs I have listened to dozens of times was amazing, that on top of its abilities to play almost any format you can throw at it makes me wonder why I didnt buy this sooner. The Mitsubishi HC6000 is the most incredible 1080p projector I have seen and I’m glad I purchased it directly from you – rich vibrant colours, inky blacks and super sharp picture. The Yamaha RXV3800 I got from you is also very nice – the sound packs a punch while remaining remarkably clean and clear – up to Yamaha’s usual high standard. Thanks very much for the Oppo 980H. As you said it arrived safe and sound two days working days after the order was placed. Connection was easy five minutes that’s all. This player replaced my Yamaha SD15000 SACD / DVD player and I’d have to say at this stage it is significantly better. Firstly the speed to load the disk and find the tracks is hugely better. The Yammie was verrrrry slow. Also the base management is very much better with a much more defined and punchier base than I’d heard before. On DVD the musicality is fantastic ( I can’t comment yet on the video as I still have a very old CRT TV so can’t appreciate the video). On CD payback there is little need to kill the DSP processing on my amp like I had to with the SD1500 to get a clear soundstage – but when I do the music is now played at another level. It’s a great player and easy to navigate.

Many thanks for your advice regarding long-run HDMI cables. We’ve installed our projector with the RapalloAV PLATINUM HiPQ 15 metre cable and the image is better than it was with a 2m HDMI cable that came with the DVD player! If anybody has any doubts about spending money on a high quality HDMI cable (especially over this distance), then don’t – the quality of the cable (it’s at least twice as thick as a typical, mass-produced HDMI cable) and the image are beyond our expectations. The installation has transformed our lounge into a proper home-theatre installation. We could have purchased a no-name brand cable off trademe and learnt how to waste money the hard way!
I look forward to recommending your company to anybody considering home theatre equipment.

Overall Cable Impression:
Good solid end connectors and nice tight connection with both the TV and DVD player.
Test Results:
Upscaling to 1080P using Sony DRC Chip on TV the colour reproduction was perfect, blacks were nice and deep and all the primary colors were as they should be. Edges of characters were smooth with no jagged imperfections. Very happy with the picture quality, even with upscaling it looks better than the original DVD at 640P displayed on a 34″ TV.

I have been monitoring this brand from the internet since last year, but a bit worried since they don’t have a dealer here plus the difference in voltage. Good to know that RapalloAV is now selling this brand in New Zealand. It is one of the best dvd player in the market with a very competitive price. I bought recently from Murray Oppo-DV-980H, I was blown away how clear and sharp the image on 720p, and the tested the sound quality on one of my audio collection it was crisp and got depth in it. Not to mention, I could view jpegs from my USB flash card. Best buy ever.

Sorry for the delay in sending you feedback – been a little too busy cleaning and recalibrating my system with the new player installed, and watching loads of movies of course.
Though I haven’t tested the Hi-rez capabilities yet, for standard definition DVD the Oppo is fantastic. Picture and sound quality are superb; it’s dead quiet while running and is much more responsive than my last player. I was surprised that a progressive signal didn’t give any improvement over 576i, but the limitation most probably lies in the design of my projector and use of a component rather than digital connection.

I’ve found that the Oppo is so good on interlaced, that often a progressive signal doesn’t produce better results. Where you will see an improvement is using the HDMI out from the Oppo.

Hi, well finally got my PS3 so got to try my HDMI cable. The cable’s great, not heavy and stiff like monster cables so wont damage the plugs, and at just over 1/4 the price of a monster cable you cant go wrong!!

The Oppo DV-970HD DVD player i purchased online through rapalloav.co.nz is of a very high standard. Its audio and visual quality is of the utmost. I shopped around the $200-$400 mark and this DVD player is by far the best buy. Its won tons of awards – it sounds fantastic – even through standard RCA cable (although it is also an HDMI device).
