Description:
X-Ray Remote Control Extender
'Teach your remote control to see through walls'
'Make Any IR Remote Control Work Through Walls and Doors'
Upgrade your remote control! The NexGen X-Ray Remote Converter makes your remote control see through walls, floors and TV cabinets.
The NexGen X-Ray Remote Converter incorporates an RF (Radio Frequency) transmitter into any standard IR (Infra-Red) remote control so that you no longer need a direct 'line-of-sight' to the equipment to control it. Now you can control your components from anywhere in the house, even through closed AV cupboard doors.
How it works
Every infra-red remote control emits a tiny radio frequency (RF) signal each time a button is pressed. The patented X-Ray Remote transmitter amplifies that signal and sends it to the X-Ray Remote receiver located by your Sky box, Blu-Ray/DVD player, stereo or whatever. The X-Ray Remote receiver converts the RF signal back into Infra-Red and re-emits at the AV equipment via the single IR emitter.
This works over distances of up to 30 metres free space, but assume up to 15 metres through normal brick of plasterboard walls.
Installing the X-Ray Remote Converter could not be easier, simply replace one of your two your remote control AA or AAA batteries with an X-Ray Remote transmitter. Put the X-Ray Remote receiver by the equipment and use the stick-on single IR emitter. For more pieces of equipment use the optional triple IR emitter or six LED emitters to give you control of up to six pieces of AV equipment from a single receiver. Additionally it is to use the X-Ray receiver as a 'blaster' to blast the signal to your AV equipment instead of using the 1 eye emitter. To do this place the receiver in a closed space with your AV equipment or across the room more than 5 metres (15 feet) away.
The transmitter incorpates a rechargeable battery so that your remote will not lose power, but will operate with the transmitter/battery replacing one of the existing batteries. The X-Ray Remote receiver is used to re-charge a second transmitter so that you always have a fully charged transmitter to keep the system working.
Which remote controls does it work with?
Any remote that has two AA or two AAA batteries. No exceptions.
