Powered by Reflective Full-high-definition SXRD™ Panels
Compared to the conventional glass-substrate liquid-crystal panels used in other projectors which produces images by passing light through them, the full-high-definition SXRD™ panels are made of a silicon substrate with a liquid-crystal coating and images are reproduced by reflecting the light. Advancements in black level reproduction and panel processing technology mean higher brightness, contrast and response times are achieved. Movies and other images such as those of digital high-definition broadcasts are reproduced naturally and with distinct clarity.
Separate SXRD™ Panels for each Primary Colour
Each of the primary colours (Red, Green and Blue) is processed using its own SXRD™ panel. The processed light from each panel is then merged at the optical block, resulting in truer colour reproduction with excellent pixel alignment.

Reproduction of 3D images at 240 frames/second
The HC9000D 3D projector uses an advanced frame sequencing method for 3D reproduction. Normal frame sequencing reproduces images at 120 frames per second (60 frames alternately for the left and right eyes). The reflective Full HD SXRD™ panels used in the HC9000D make it possible to display images at 240 frames per second (120 frames for each eye). This increase in the frame sequencing speed means that crosstalk (ghosting of images when alternating between frames) is reduced to a minimum, for cleaner 3D playback and less strain on the eyes.
Wide Compatibility with 3D Television Broadcasts
Mitsubishi Electric has incorporated a side-by-side projection function currently being used for 3D television broadcasts, and plans to introduce a function to support top-and-bottom projection. The ability to switch between projection formats ensures compatibility with the various 3D content being made available.
Impressively High Contrast Ratio - Up to 150,000:1
The newly developed optical compensator found in the HC9000D significantly reduces light lost during processing, providing high contrast image reproduction in images. Additionally, the 18-step fixed aperture can be freely adjusted for improved black reproduction. Through these advancements we have achieved our greatest contrast ratio to date - equivalent to a maximum of 150,000:1.
Smaller Grid Pattern for Clearer Large Screen Images
Space between pixels has been reduced to 0.2µm - a smaller gap than previously used - and the structure between pixels has been optimised to reduce crosstalk. As a result, the original smooth texture of moving images is beautifully reproduced.

High-speed Response Time for Clear Projection of Fast Moving Images
The liquid-crystal cell thickness has been reduced to under 2µm, enabling a quick response speed of 2ms for both rise and fall times. Extremely clear scenes with minimal blurring can be enjoyed, even with fast-moving images.

High Performance Video Processor
The HC9000D is equipped with the latest Reon-VX chip produced by Integrated Device Technology Inc (formerly Silicon Optix), a chip widely used on high-end AV equipment and which has earned an outstanding reputation among industry professionals. Renowned for its HQVTM (Hollywood Quality Video) technology, the Reon-VX provides high-precision I/P conversion for sharper images from any video source, a high performance video scaler for superior resolution conversion, and optimised chromatic up-sampling for more faithful reproduction of high definition colour images.
New 1.8x Power Zoom Lens
The lens incorporated in the HC9000D has a 6-piece/17-cluster structure including a high-end, extra-low dispersion (ED) lens with advanced functionality compared to standard glass lenses. The lens system dramatically improves chromatic aberration and peripheral focus, giving you sharper pictures right to the edge of the screen.

Cinema Colour Filter
The Cinema Filter increases the purity of colours(particularly green and cyan) by expanding the colour spectrum levels. This expansion of the colour spectrum level means truer reproduction of scenes such as a deeply forested hillside are possible.

Colour Management Function - For independent adjustment of Hue, Saturation and Gain for Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colours.
